Biography
Angel Chavez is a San Francisco native and is currently pursuing his undergraduate education in psychology. His experiences navigating higher education as a first-generation college student have shaped his interest in helping others overcome barriers and to access opportunities. He hopes to continue his education by pursuing a Master of Social Work and building a career centered on supporting individuals, families, and communities.
Research Interests:
Angel’s research interests center on mental health and the factors that shape the well-being of individuals and families. He is interested in understanding the experiences of underserved communities and the barriers they may face when seeking mental health services. His interests are driven by his goal of becoming a clinical social worker and learning how culturally responsive approaches can better support individuals from diverse backgrounds
