About

Background:

Petri grew up in Rohnert Park, playing soccer and baseball through the city's sports programs. His passion for sports guided him to join a local sprint kayak team and eventually become a nationally and internationally ranked athlete for Team USA. Being immersed in a competitive yet collaborative athletic environment led to an interest in kinesiology, specifically sport and exercise physiology. Balancing both academic and athletic goals, Petri plans to pursue a graduate degree in exercise physiology and has his sights set on the 2028 Olympics.

Research Interests:

Petri is interested in researching sports physiology, as well as human longevity in relation to exercise. He is interested in exercise science and physiology--not only how it can improve athletic capabilities, but also the potential for impact in biological aging. Petri's current research focuses on the longevity of adult individuals with various levels of physical capabilities.
