Research Interests:

Yareli's interests include the study of the mental health challenges that low SES (socioeconomic status) college students experience. As a first-generation college student who comes from a low SES background, she understands these difficulties personally. Through her research, she hopes to make other people feel less alone. 

Current Research: 

Yareli's current research focuses on the relationship between mental health and low-SES college students, specifically how low-SES college students can develop imposter syndrome and therefore disproportionately encounter mental health barriers in comparison to students from higher-SES backgrounds.
